Mark Atherley

Mark Atherley has been involved in aviation for over thirty years, flying both Boeing and Airbus aircraft during his career. He has over 17,000 hours of commercial flying experience including 10,000 as a long-haul captain.

A current Boeing 787 captain, Mark has also presented to aviation groups, universities, and industry on technical and economic aviation issues. He also works with early-stage aerospace start-ups and projects.

Mark holds a MSc in Air Transport Management, a LLM in International Business Law and a MA in Global Diplomacy.

A previous member of National Executive of the Pilot’s association BALPA, Mark is passionate about flight safety. Mark is also a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society and Chatham House.

He looks forward to supporting the Club’s recruitment in operational areas of the industry and advancing its profile worldwide.
